Who you’ll see in Ipswich
About thrush treatment
In Ipswich, a GP reviews your symptoms and history to assess thrush, only examining you in clinic if the diagnosis needs it. Your GP explains the diagnosis clearly and sets out the right treatment for you. Antifungal treatment, where clinically indicated, is agreed with you that day. See our national page at /conditions/thrush/ for more.
About thrush
A common yeast infection, thrush happens when Candida overgrows, most often in the genital area but also the mouth and skin folds. It usually causes itching, soreness, a thick white discharge in genital cases, and redness or irritation where it occurs. Thrush is rarely serious and generally clears well with antifungal treatment, though it's worth seeing a GP if it keeps coming back.
