Who you’ll see in Loughton
About thrush treatment
Seeing a GP in Loughton about thrush means a review of your symptoms and history first, with an examination only if that's not enough to be sure. Your GP explains the diagnosis clearly and sets out the right treatment for you. Antifungal treatment, where clinically indicated, is agreed with you that day. See our national page at /conditions/thrush/ for more.
About thrush
Thrush is a yeast infection caused by Candida overgrowing, typically in the genital area, though it can also affect the mouth and skin folds. Expect itching, soreness, a thick white discharge with genital thrush, and redness or irritation in the affected area. It's not usually serious and tends to respond well to antifungal treatment, but recurrent thrush is worth raising with a GP.
