Who you’ll see in Ipswich
About sinusitis
In Ipswich, seeing a GP — by video or in person — means a review of your symptoms and their duration, to decide whether the cause is viral or bacterial. Worth booking if symptoms have lasted more than 10 days without improving, you have severe facial or eye pain, a high temperature, or things worsen after improving. Treatment — antibiotics or a steroid spray where appropriate — is agreed with you that day. See /conditions/sinusitis/ for the full picture.
About sinusitis
Inflammation of the sinuses — the air-filled spaces behind the nose, cheeks and forehead — is called sinusitis, and it often follows a cold. It typically causes facial pain or pressure, a blocked or runny nose, a reduced sense of smell, and sometimes a cough that worsens at night. Viral cases are most common and usually clear within two to three weeks, though bacterial sinusitis occasionally needs antibiotics.
What happens in the appointment
