Who you’ll see in Hitchin
About hay fever
A GP in Hitchin reviews your symptoms and triggers, by video or in clinic, to confirm whether it's genuinely hay fever. It's ruled apart from a cold, sinus infection or non-allergic rhinitis, and stronger treatment can be arranged if pharmacy antihistamines haven't worked. Stronger options — steroid nasal sprays, eye drops or a short oral course — are agreed with you. See our national page at /conditions/hay-fever/ for more.
About hay fever
Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen, causing inflammation in the nose, eyes, throat and sinuses. Common symptoms include sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy and watery eyes, and an itchy throat or ears, usually worse when pollen counts are high. Symptoms can range from mild and seasonal to significant enough to disrupt sleep, work or school.
