Who you’ll see in Wokingham
About thrush treatment
Thrush is assessed in Wokingham by reviewing your symptoms and history — an examination is only needed if the diagnosis isn't clear. The GP talks through the diagnosis and what treatment makes sense for your situation. Antifungal treatment, where clinically indicated, is agreed with you that day. See our national page at /conditions/thrush/ for more.
About thrush
Thrush is a common yeast infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida, most often affecting the genital area but also the mouth and skin folds. Typical symptoms include itching, soreness, a thick white discharge (in genital thrush), and redness or irritation of the affected area. It's not usually serious and often responds well to antifungal treatment, though recurrent thrush is worth discussing with a GP.
